
Dark purple hue, tarty
sweet, sour taste and lots of memories – Jamuns or Black Plum are olive-sized fruit of nostalgia that take many of us back to our
childhoods. In childhood we used to have these beautiful fruits on sunny days,
and then checking each other's tongues for a purple patch left behind by the
pulp.
One Jamun contains 1.41 mg
of iron, 15 mg of calcium and 18 mg of Vitamin-C & it is a rich source of vitamin
B.
Jamun has several health
benefits – Fight Diabetes, Improve Digestion, helps in Weight Loss, Improves
Oral Health, minimises Risk of Cancer.

Ingredients for the Recipe –
1 cup of Jamun pulp
500 ml of Milk
100 gm of Weikfield Vanilla
Ice cream powder

Recipe –
1. Take 500 ml of milk
in a pan and boil it. Reduce it to 2/3 of its quantity.
2. Then mix the vanilla
Ice cream powder and continuously stir the mixture for 5 minutes (at this time
keep the flame low to medium). Then turn of the heat.
3. Cool down the ice
cream mixture. When it comes at room temperature blend the mixture for 3-4
minutes in mixture or by hand blender.
4. Pour the mixture in a
box and freeze it for 3-4 hours.
5. Next de-seed the
Jamuns and take the pulp out. Then blend the pulp in blender.
6. After 3-4 hours take
out the ice cream mixture from the refrigerator and again blend it with the
Jamun pulp for 3-4 minutes and again pour the mixture in a box and put it in
refrigerator for 5-6 hours to set it completely.
Ice cream is done. After 6 hours the Jamun Ice cream is ready to eat.
Scoop it out and serve it.
